Drunken Truck Driver Causes Deadly Accident on Cross Bronx Expressway

An intoxicated driver of a semi-trailer truck took the life of a fellow driver on Monday night when his truck slammed into a 1997 Toyota sedan killing the 25-year old driver, Caesar Contreras of New Brunswick, New Jersey.  CBS New York reported that the truck driver fled the scene but was later tracked down in Ridgefield, New Jersey where a breathalyzer test confirmed his intoxication.  Criminal charges against the truck driver are expected in both New York and New Jersey.

The attorneys at Queller, Fisher, Washor, Fuchs & Kool, L.L.P., represent people injured in collisions with semi trucks and other commercial vehicles. If your accident was caused by a drunk commercial driver, we will seek compensation from the trucking company. Our attorneys diligently pursue injury and wrongful death claims until we recover the damages you need.

Commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders must report DWI convictions to their employers within 30 days, even if they were arrested while driving their personal vehicles for non-work-related purposes. A DWI conviction may cause the driver to lose his or her CDL temporarily or permanently. It will also increase the trucking company’s insurance premiums.

Our cases are taken on a contingency fee basis. If we accept your case, there is no fee unless we recover damages for you. For a free consultation with our New York personal injury attorneys, please call (212) 406-1700 or contact us online.
